CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Doris Crane Loveland of Chestertown died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, at Heron Point, Chestertown. She was 96.
Mrs. Loveland was born in Hammonton, N.J., on Nov. 22, 1911, and was married to Samuel C. Loveland Jr. for 69 years.
She graduated from Hammonton High School and Sweet Briar College, and did her graduate work at Duke University.
Mrs. Loveland was a teacher in the Hammonton school system.
She and her husband were owners of Hereshome Farm, Moorestown, N.J., Readbourne Farms and Ashland Landing Farm, Centreville.
Mrs. Loveland was a lifetime member of the National Society of Colonial Dames of America, the Queen Anne's County Garden Club, the Queen Anne's County Historical Society, the Junior Auxiliary of the Memorial Hospital at Easton and Westfield Friends Meeting in Cinnaminson, N.J.
Mrs. Loveland is survived by five children and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam, in November 2007.
Private family services will be held.
Arrangements are by Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home, Chestertown.
