CLAYTON - Dorinda K. Peck of Clayton died Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was 54.
She was born in Kendalville, Ind., to Forest Dean Jackson of Orlando, Fla., and the late D'maris (Uhl) Jackson.
Mrs. Peck was a computer programmer for the Chemical Bank and the University of Delaware.
She also had worked as a certified nurses assistant for Hospice.
Mrs. Peck was a 1989 Magna Cum Laude Graduate of Goldey Beacom College.
She was very musically talented; she loved to play the guitar and clarinet, and sing in the choir.
In her spare time she loved to knit, crochet and worked with arts and crafts.
She also enjoyed working in her garden.
Mrs. Peck was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Dover where she was very active with the church.
She was also active with the New Castle Baptist Church where she worked with the children's choir and the shut-in ministry.
She enjoyed working with children and took care of the 3- and 4-year-olds during church.
Church was a very big part of her entire life, and she was a born-again Christian.
When the Lord called her Home, she was ready to take His hand and walk through the Pearly Gates.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Peck was preceded in death by her brother, Douglas Jackson.
She is survived loving husband of 29 years, Charles W. Peck of Clayton; son, Charles L. Peck and wife Leah of St. Georges; daughter, Sarah E. Dunn and her husband Justin of Victorville, Calif.; and sisters, Deborah Jackson of Orlando, Fla., and Deanna O. Connor of Atlanta.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday in First Southern Baptist Church, 761 S. Little Creek Road, Dover, where friends may call one hour prior.
Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
Instead of flowers, contributions can be made to the First Southern Baptist Church, 761 S. Little Creek Road, Dover.
Arrangements are by the Melvin Funeral Home, Harrington.
