Donna Marie Short

HARRINGTON – Donna Marie Short passed away peacefully at home on Monday, Nov. 14, 2016. Donna worked as a Data Entry Specialist with Emile Henry for several years and retired due to disability in 2003. She attended North Way Church in Milford and she loved cats, and enjoyed shopping, cleaning, thrift shops, decorating and playing bingo. Donna was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, William Dudley Short; and her maternal grandparents, Fred Joseph Grassi and Mae Sarah Grassi. She is survived by a son, Devin Needam and wife Rachael; one granddaughter, Ariella Marie Hope Needam; her parents, Smitty and Dottie Short, of Milford; four siblings, Tammy Dlugoborski and husband Frank, of Rock Hall, Md., Danny Ashley and wife Audra, of Hurlock, Md., David Ashley and companion Stacy Dalton, of Harrington, and William Short, Jr., of Dover; her paternal grandmother, Thelma Short, of Sudlersville, Md.; two goddaughters, Kayla Kovach and Ashley Sammons; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, Milford, Del., with visitation after 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the funeral home to defray expenses.
