DOVER - Donna M. Copper, of Dover, departed this life Thursday, July 30, 2009, at Christiana Hospital. Donna was born May 6, 1956, in Dover. She was the daughter of James C. Meade and the late Christine Bordley Meade. Donna received her early education in the Capital School District and graduated from Dover High School in 1975. She attended Delaware Technical and Community College where she received a Secretarial degree and later attended Delaware State University. Donna was employed at Delaware State University as a Secretary in the Counseling Office. Donna was a devoted and loving mother. In the early years of her life she attended Sunday School at Mount Zion A.M.E. Church, where she became a member. She was a member of the Junior Stewardess Board and went on to become a Senior Stewardess. Donna enjoyed doing needle-point, different crafts, was an avid reader and loved shopping on QVC. She looked forward to having breakfast on Saturday mornings with her aunts and cousins and spending time with the love of her life; Simba, her dog. Donna loved and enjoyed life to the fullest. Donna was preceded in death by her mother, Christine Bordley Meade; her maternal grandparents, James C. Sr. and Cora Bordley; and her paternal grandparents, Armster and Harriett Meade. She leaves to cherish her memories a loving son, Ronald Meade of St. Louis, Missouri; a devoted and dedicated father, James C. Meade of Dover; three brothers Wayne Meade of El Cerrito, Calif.; Michael Meade (Gloria) of Dover, and Craig Meade of Middletown; a devoted niece and nephew, Jasmine and James (JR); a great aunt, Gertrude Bordley of Dover; a host of uncles, aunts cousins and cherished friends.
