
DOVER - Donald "Donnie" Lee Tyndall entered into Eternal Rest Monday, Aug. 16, 2017 at his home.
Mr. Donald Tyndall was born, Jan. 14, 1937, in Milford to Preston L. Tyndall and Ethel W. Tyndall.
He attended and graduated from Milford High School. He immediately went into the United States Army where he proudly served his country. Upon receiving an honorable discharge, he returned to Delaware. During the ensuing years, he was employed by Atlantic Tea Company (A&P) and subsequently for Scott Paper, where he retired with over 25 years of service.
Donald was a member and trustee of Woodside United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Dover Police Auxiliary as well as a memeber of the American Legion.
His greatest passion in his life was family and friends. He always looked forward to visits by the kids, grandkids, and friends. He especially enjoyed meals out with company and family meals.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Preston L. and Ethel W. Tyndall of Milford; his loving wife, Ethel Tyndall of 26 years; a sister, Kathleen T. Moran; and brother-in law, Carlton C. Moran of Dover; and a nephew, William K. Moran.
He is survived by his daughter, Christine L. Tyndall and William DeLong of Hartly; stepson, Mark LaVere, his wife Nina of Wilmington; stepdaughters, Carole Bickerdyke, her husband Ed of Swedesboro, N.J., Crystal Eckenroad and her husband Gary of Penns Grove, N.J.; as well as eight granddaughters, a grandson, a great-granddaughter, and two great-grandsons.
Viewing will be held at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt 10) Dover, Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 12 p.m., Reverend Mark Lewis will be performing the service, and Interment will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Woodside United Methodist Church.
