BRIDGEVILLE - Donald "Donnie" Lee Betts born the only child to the late Granville Betts, Jr. and Betty (Rogers) Betts, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on November 29, 2022.
Donnie graduated from Sussex Central High School in 1974. Donnie was also a student of Sussex Vocational and Technical High School's Masonry Program. He worked as a Brick Mason for over 40 years. He retired from DelDOT as an Equipment Operator in December 2021. Donnie was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. His passion was deer hunting and at the time of his death still held first place on the Delaware Top All Time Typical Deer for Pope and Young. Donnie also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Donnie is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Linda (Johnson) Betts; son, Michael L. Betts of Georgetown; daughter and son-in-law, Laina Betts-Dunn & Michael Dunn of Laurel; grandsons, Tyler Betts, Brandon Betts, and Logan Smith; granddaughter, Savannah Massey; and two great-grandsons, Aiden Connelly and Cason Betts.
Donnie was preceded in death by both his parents; and his grandson, Adam Connelly.
