Donald Edward Duker, 64

TOWNSEND - Donald Edward Duker, of Townsend, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008. He was 64.

Donald was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and uncle.

He was the son of Albert Miller and the late Helen V. Duker, and was born March 23, 1943, in Townsend.

Donald attended the Middletown and Townsend public schools.

He worked at the Chrysler Corp., Newark, for over 30 years and was a member of the local UAW 1183.

Donald loved helping others and was an all around handyman.

He is survived by two sisters, Marilyn E. Duker and Viola V. Duker, both of Smyrna; three brothers, Curtis Duker of North Carolina, Albert Black of Wilmington and Narvin Miller of New Castle; and one aunt, Florence Hampton of Tyler, Texas.

Donald leaves cherished memories with his devoted wife of 23 years, Marilyn Watson Duker of Townsend; four children whom he raised as his own, Donald Pierce Jr. (Lisa) of Townsend, Joseph Watson (Shannon) of Frederica, Rosaria Cephas (Jerome) of Smyrna and Grace Norcisa (Norman) of Camden; and seven grandchildren, Darnell, Ja'Nell, Jai'ke, Justin, Brittany, Talaney and Tre.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, the Rev. Robert Watson of Clayton.

Donald is further survived by a special mother-in-law, Grace Watson of Dover; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Bennie Smith Funeral, 717 W. Division St., Dover, with viewing two hours prior to the service.

A viewing will be also held Friday at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m.

Interment will be at Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
