Camden - Donald E. Watkins went to be with the Lord on Nov. 9, 2018, happily reuniting with his parents. He was born in Richmond, Va. 1/25/60; Richmond was always "home" to him.
He was a graduate of J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College. Donald spent his early years in Boy Scouts attaining the highest rank of Eagle Scout. He worked as an EMT with Richmond Ambulance and was a member of New Kent Fire for many years. His fondest memories are kayaking the James River. He married the love of his life, Janice Marok Watkins in 1996; sharing 22 wonderful years. Together, they happily resided in Camden-Wyoming. His favorite past-times were hunting, shooting, woodworking, and smoking and barbequing food for his family and friends. He worked at Garda World Cash Logistics since moving to Delaware 12 years ago.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, William Watkins and Melissa Agnes Payne Watkins.
Donald is survived by his loving wife, Janice; his sister-in-law, Linda Przybylski; his brother-in-law, Walter Przybylski; his nieces and nephews, Lisa and Jim Truszkowski, Lori and Kelly Bishop and Jessica Przybylski; and his great nieces and nephews, Rebecca Bishop, Lindsay Truszkowski, Joshua Bishop, David Bishop, James Truszkowski; and his Godson, PFC Brian Truszkowski U.S.M.C., whom he was very proud of. His Virginia family includes Bonnie and Reggie Lantz, Norman Payne, and the Payne cousins, Steven, Glenn, Warren and Bruce. Donald was a godly man, full of integrity with a big heart and a caring way about him; he will be greatly missed by his extended family and a host of friends.
A memorial service will be held at Wyoming U.M. Church, 216 Wyoming Mill Road, Dover on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018 at 3 p.m., with an hour of visiting preceding the service. His final resting place will be with his parents at Washington Memorial Cemetery, Sandston, Va. Donations can be made in his name to The Arc of Delaware, 2 S. Augustine St., Suite B, Wilmington, DE 19804 and Boy Scout Troop #24, Wyoming U.M. Church, 216 Wyoming Mill Road, Dover, DE 19904.
