Don Franklin Grissom

Don Franklin Grissom, 74 FELTON - Don Franklin Grissom, 74, of Felton, passed away Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009, in the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. He was born on Nov. 18, 1935, in Anderson, Ind., son of the late Abe and Ruby (Taylor) Grissom. Don served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force for 20 ½ years. He was a veteran of the Korean and VietNam Wars. He was involved in the C-5 test program in 1970/71 both in Texas and California (Edwards Air Force Base). He was a member of the American Legion, 40 & 8, and VFW. Don enjoyed fishing and playing computer games. In his younger years he also enjoyed playing pool and cards. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Earl; three sisters, Katherine, Mary Anna, and Alice; and his Aunt Maude and Uncle George Keesling who raised him half of his childhood years. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Karen (Sherman) Grissom; a son, Don F. Grissom Jr. of Felton; a grandson, Don F. Grissom III of Columbia, Md.; a brother, Kenneth Keesling of Anderson, Ind.; an aunt, Lena Grissom of Anderson, Ind.; and a cousin, Claudette (Grissom) Wirt of Anderson, Ind. He also has several nephews and nieces. A gathering will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 4, at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the American Legion and 40 & 8 programs, Walter L. Fox Post 2, 835 Bay Rd., Dover, DE 19901.
