Dolores (Johnson) Carney Rivera "Dee" got her wings on February 5, 2022, while residing at Lingenfter Center in Kingman, Arizona.
She was born September 16, 1931, to Willis and Henriette Johnson of Cheswold.
Dee attended Cheswold Elementary School and earned her GED from Kent Voc-Tech School. She worked for Leeds, Crescent Farms Nursing Home and as a caregiver for many patients. In her later years she was a tax preparer and worked for Hospice. She was also active in her home church Immanuel UUM Church in Cheswold and enjoyed coming back to Delaware for the Pow Wow's, visiting family and friends, reading, and playing cards with friends. She also liked listening to Alan Jackson's "Precious Memories".
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Wilson C. Carney; brothers, Charles, and Return Johnson; sisters, Calanthia Johnson, and Ardella Durham (Clinton); and grandson, Wilson L. Carney.
She is survived by her son, Wilson Pete Carney of Golden Valley, AZ; brother, Stanley Johnson (Pat) of Felton, DE; grandson, Raymond Wilson Carney of NC; great grandsons, Joshua Carney of AZ and Robert Carney of CA; great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Carney of NC; and a host of nieces and nephews. She later married Oswaldo Rivera.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m., Friday, March 18, 2022, at Immanuel Union United Methodist Church Cemetery, 756 Main Street, Cheswold, DE 19936.
