DOVER - Diana Lynn Oswell passed away Friday, January 1, 2021.
Mrs. Oswell was born December 27, 1955 in Bourne, Massachusetts to the late Dorothy Ann Saltsgaver and Ralph Louis Russ.
A resident of Dover since 1963, Diana met her husband Douglas Evander Oswell, Sr. at the Dover Air Force Base bowling alley in 1970, marrying him in 1973. Mrs. Oswell worked in civil service as an administrative assistant at Dover Air Force Base from 1980 until her retirement in 2014.
The chief joy in Diana's life was family, first in raising her three children and later in spending time with her eight grandchildren. Mrs. Oswell was an avid reader and a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Flyers.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her son, baby Douglas Evander Oswell, Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Douglas Evander Oswell, Sr.; children, Michelle Lynn Oswell, of Ridley Park, Pa., Katharine Marie Meinburg (Scott) of Helena, Ala., Douglas E. Oswell, III (Katie Bennett), of Dover, Del; two sisters, Victoria Ann Healey, of Felton, Del., and Sandra Marie Fred (Philip), of Dover, Del.; niece, Angela Raksnis; eight grandchildren, Sam, Isaac, Charlotte, Guy, Anna Claire and Boede Meinburg as well as Anna Lee and Colby Jane Oswell. She will also be missed by her sheltie, Dickens.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Rd. (Rt 10). A visitation for friends will be held one hour prior. Burial will follow services at Lakeside Cemetery in Dover.

In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions be made in Diana's honor to Delaware Hospice, "Camp New Hope," 911 S. DuPont Hwy., Dover, Delaware 19901.
