Diana Lynn Foster, 73
Diana Lynn Foster went to her heavenly home Thursday, June 17, 2021.
After graduating high school in her home state of New Jersey, she furthered her education in West Virginia to receive her teaching credentials. Diana started her teaching career in the Caesar Rodney School District where she worked for over thirty-seven years. She first began at J. Ralph McIlvaine Early Childhood Center and then finished her career at W. Reily Brown Elementary School. Diana had the blessed opportunity to teach thousands of students over the years including students with special needs and children with hearing and sight challenges. Even in Diana's last days she had past students, some who are now adults with grandchildren of their own, come up to her and say, "Hi Mrs. Foster, do you remember me?" and Diana always did! After her retirement from the school district, Diana continued to serve her community helping people at the Women's Center in Dover where she worked for over ten years.
In Diana's spare time, you would likely find her baking buckets of cookies, trays of candy, and even her specialty-pretzel salad! She loved baking, cooking, shopping, and especially the beach. Diana served her local community on many committees over the years such as the Camden-Wyoming Little League. Diana brought much joy to those who knew her. She was one to make laughter all around her with her personality and jokes. What a loving woman she was and you should consider yourself blessed beyond measure that you were a part of her life because she certainly believed you all were important in hers!
She is survived by her husband of over forty years, Thomas Ronald Foster. In addition to her husband, Diana is survived by her granddaughter, Abigail Lynn Foster, who was the apple of Diana's eye. Diana is also survived by two sons, Eric and Scott. She is also survived by her best friend of many years, Cookie (Jack) Reed; her niece and nephew, Tiffani and JD Masten; grandchildren of the heart-Seth Scheas, Melodee Masten, Hunter (Hunty-Bunty) Masten, and Johh Masten, II. Lastly, she is also survived by her brother, Barry Cregar and two nieces, Dayna Cregar and Denise (Tom) Muller; and one great nephew, Zachary Muller all living in New Jersey. Diana also leaves behind many beloved family and friends. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Patricia Cregar.
Services for Diana will be Friday, June 25, 2021, 3 p.m., at Torbert Funeral Home located at 1145 East Lebanon Road, Dover, Del. Visitation will be one hour before.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America, 1707 North Randall Road, Suite 200, Elgin, IL 60123.
