EAST NEW MARKET - Dennis Robert Connors passed away on Apr. 3, 2017 at home after a long battle with cancer.
He was born on Nov. 6, 1943 in Jersey City, N.J., the son of the late Marie and John Connors. He was also preceded in death by brothers, John Connors and Robert Connors.
He came to the Eastern Shore in 1985, spending the past 12 years in Dorchester County. He was a retired food and beverage controller who worked in the northern New Jersey restaurant industry. He was a devoted father to his two sons, serving as a coach to them and their friends in the local NFL Flag Football League and in the Dorchester County Parks and Recreation Soccer League. He was an avid gardener who took great pride in his extensive flower beds, often sharing flower bulbs with friends and neighbors. Renovating the family home was another major project in his retirement, doing the majority of the work himself.
Mr. Connors is survived by his wife of 31 years, Theresa Marie Horner Connors; his sons, Robert Austin and Aaron James, both at home; his sister, Mary Connors-Parker and husband William Parker of Colonial Beach, Va.; two nieces, Jacqueline Connors Bruno of Wood-Ridge, N.J. and Kimberly Connors Lanflisi of Smithtown, N.Y. and their husbands and children.
Per Mr. Connors' wishes, there will be no memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Coastal Hospice, P. O. Box 1733, Salisbury MD 21802.
