CHESTERTOWN, MD - Dennis M. Schauber, of Chestertown, Md., died May 22, 2012 in Christiana Hospital. Mr. Schauber was born on Mar. 6, 1948 in Millington, Md., son of Margaret Lockwood Schauber of Chestertown and the late Thomas Schauber. Dennis was a 1966 graduate of Galena High School and from 1967 to 1969 served with the U.S. Air Force. He was a lifetime resident of the area where he began working as a carpenter, building homes with his father and brother. He continued operating a custom woodworking business. Dennis enjoyed fishing, crabbing, hunting and pitching horse shoes. Along with his mother he is survived by his wife of 23 years, Betty Jo BeeBeSchauber; three daughters and son-in-laws, Kira and Mike Mardesich of Dover, Del., Erica and Justin Holton of Michigan and Dawn and Greg Smith of Chestertown; a brother, Don Schauber of Chestertown; a sister, Ellen Ruebeck of Millington; and eight grandchildren, Heather McVey (Kenneth), Caitlyn Smith, Mason and Sacha Mardesich, Jack and Reese Holton, Miranda Atherholt and Asher Grubb. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 30 at 11 a.m. in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W.
