Dennis J. "Sonny" Condron, 72
MILFORD - Dennis J. "Sonny" Condron of Milford died Monday, July 30, 2007, in Milford Memorial Hospital, Bayhealth Medical Center. He was 72.
Mr. Condron was born in Philadelphia on Jan. 19, 1935, son of the late Dennis J. Jr. and Carrie (Minnick) Condron.
He attended St. Thomas Moore High School in Philadelphia.
Mr. Condron was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He moved to Milford from Philadelphia in 1960.
Mr. Condron was a painter and worked for Service Master and Larlham Construction, both in Dover, for Paul Thomas Painting in Camden, and G.T. Painting in Dover. He was a jack of all trades and liked doing odd jobs around the area.
He was a devout Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies fan.
Mr. Condron loved playing horseshoes with his brothers, attending cookouts and having a beer or two.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 3 in Milford, an associate member of the F.O.P. of Kent County Lodge 3 and a former member of the Wyoming Moose Lodge, where he was chairman of the entertainment committee.
Mr. Condron is survived by his wife of 31 years and loving caregiver, Susan L. (Donovan) Condron; two sons, Tracy Condron of Pendleton, Ore., and Dennis Condron Jr. of Milford; six daughters, Celeste Noe and her husband Bob of Clarksburg, W.Va., Peggy Brinson and her husband Steve of Beaulaville, N.C., Phyllis "Babe" Ash of Newburg, N.C., Dorothy Phillips and her husband Eric of West Union, W.Va., Kimberly Myran, of Seaford, and Holly Angel Condron of Milford; two brothers, John Condron and his wife Bert of Harrington, and Joseph Condron of Dover; a sister, Peggy Pippin and her husband Carlton of Dover; a dear brother-in-law, Skip Donovan of Lincoln; 17 grandchildren, T.J. and Amber Condron, Jessica, Brent and Justin England, Jessica and Josh Noe, Carolyn Condron, John Brinson, J.R., Cecil and Anna Jones, Stacy Boop, Casey and Bobby Phillips, and Bradley Myran and Lara Pink; seven great-grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Ave., Milford, where friends may call after noon. Burial will be in Milford Community Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to either Delaware Hospice Central Division, 911 South DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901; or to American Legion Post 3, North Rehoboth Boulevard, Milford, DE 19963.
