GEORGETOWN - Denise A. Hitchens of Georgetown passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2007, in Lewes as a result of injuries sustained from an automobile accident. She was 57.
Mrs. Hitchens was born in New York City, daughter of the late Michael and Josephine (Maragline) La Rotonda.
She moved to Delaware in 1991 and was a self-employed hairdresser at Hey Good Looking Salon in Milton for the past eight years.
She was a real family-oriented person who loved her children and grandson and was expecting another grandson May 1, 2007.
Mrs. Hitchens was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church, Nassau.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Jeff J. Hitchens; a daughter and a son-in-law, Nicole J. and Louis Sollino of Westchester, N.Y.; a son and a daughter-in-law, Christopher and Maureen Hitchens of Milford; a brother, Michael W. La Rotonda of Westchester; and a grandson, Louis N. Sollino of Westchester.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Jude's Catholic Church, Nassau.
Burial will be private.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Multiple Sclerosis Society, 2 Mill Road, Wilmlington, DE 19806.
