MILLINGTON, Md. - Delores "Dee" Wallace, of Millington, died at her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, July 31, 2011, she was 67. Born in Binghamton, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Rena Bennett Sweetay. Mrs. Wallace worked as a Caregiver for Seniors at Home and had also worked for many years with the U.S. Postal Service. Mrs. Wallace was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, Millington, Md. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, gardening and canning. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Family picnics were her favorite way to spend a day. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Raymond M. Wallace; daughters, Joanne Faust and her husband Bill of Sudlersville, Md., Roseanne Rash and her husband Lee of Barclay, Md., Christine Brice and her husband David of Millington, Md.; a son, Robert Putnam and his wife Stacie of Barclay, Md.; step-sons, Daniel Wallace and his wife Edna of Earleville, Md. William Wallace of Barclay, Md., Kevin Wallace and his wife Shelly of Barclay, Md.; a step-daughter, Barbara W. Rouse and her husband Ronnie of Marion, Va.; four brothers, Frank, Raymond, Bobby and Michael Sweetay, all of New York; sisters, Helen Biby of Lawton, Okla., Theresa Elmore of New York, Lynn Ploutz, also of New York; 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Bill Sweetay. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011, in the Fellows Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home 370 W. Cypress St. Millington, Md., where friends and family may call Wednesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m., as well as one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Crumpton Cemetery, Crumpton, Md. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her memory to the Asbury United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 187, Millington, MD 21651.
