SMYRNA - Dean H. Byam, died at home on Aug. 27, 2015. He is survived by his wife, Starr; daughter, Stacey; and son-in-law, David Massuli; each of whom were at his side when he passed away. He was born on Mar. 18, 1953 in Orange, Texas to John and Helen Byam. He married Starr Walling, his high school sweetheart in 1972 in New Castle, Del. Dean worked for over thirty years in the auto parts industry before retiring in 2012. Dean is remembered by his friends and family as having the gift of gab; always ready with a story to tell or a joke to put a smile on everyone's face. His passion was for cars, especially classic hot rods. Dean could always be spotted on sunny weekend afternoons driving from one car show to another in the 1949 Chevy he personally restored and customized. His car buddies, as well as everyone who knew him, will miss the big guy who was always willing to lend a hand, no matter what the task. Services will be private.
