PRESTON, Md. - David William Kenton Sr. of Preston died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006, in Memorial Hospital at Easton. He was 81.
Mr. Kenton was born May 28, 1925, in Choptank, son of the late Charlie Virgil and Matilda (Lubba) Kenton.
He worked as a truck driver his entire life with the late Lee McMahan and also with Tri-Gas & Oil Co., Federalsburg.
Mr. Kenton was a former member of the Preston Lion's Club and the Immanual Lutheran Church, Preston.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Normilea W., on May 2, 1974; and a stepson, Thomas Johnson, in February 2004.
He is survived by his wife, Winifred, whom he married Nov. 1, 1974; a daughter, Bonnie Donoho and her companion, Gene Hastings, of Seaford; a son and a daughter-in-law, David W. "Billy" Jr. and Linda Kenton of Bridgeville; two stepdaughters, Corliss Wright of Hurlock and Sharon Cordrey of Laurel; five sisters, Alice Perry of Seaford, Irene Chambers of Preston, Audrey Willoughby and Betty Lare, Both of Federalsburg, and Wanda North of Henderson, Mich.; two brothers, Charles Kenton of Preston and Franklin Kenton of Laurel; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and nine stepgreat-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Williamson Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Federalsburg, where friends may call one hour earlier. The Rev. Denzil Cheek will officiate.
Burial will be Jr. Order Cemetery, Preston.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Immanual Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 39, Preston, MD 21655.
