SUDLERSVILLE, Md. - David Leager Sr. of Sudlersville died Tuesday, July 3, 2007, in Bayhealth Hospital, Dover, Del. He was 52.

Mr. Leager was born Jan. 19, 1955, near Crumpton, son of the late Earl and Mary (Lofland) Leager.

Mr. Leager was a graduate of Queen Anne"s County High School.

He worked for John George and Southern States in Sudlersville. He also worked for David A. Bramble Inc. for several years and most recently worked for the Kent County Roads Department until his disability forced him to retire in 2004.

Mr. Leager enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. One of his favorite pastimes found him driving around the countryside enjoying the sights.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Edward Leager, in 1959.

Mr. Leager is survived by three sons, David Allen Leager Jr., TyRay Edward Leager and Eric Joseph Leager, all of Sudlersville; three brothers and their wives, Charles and Barbara Leager of Sudlersville, Earl and Nancy Leager of Marydel, and Robert and Debbie Leager of Sudlersville; and a sister, Joyce Todd, and her husband, James, of Marydel; special friends, including his former wife, Joanne Coker of Smyrna, Del., Victoria Ware of Goldsboro, Mildred Bramble of Sandtown, Del., and David McGinnis of Goldsboro; and many more friends, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be noon Monday in the Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 370 W. Cypress St., Millington, where friends and family may call after 11 a.m. They are also invited to visit at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 7 to 9. Interment will be in the Busick"s Church Cemetery, Barclay.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the David Leager Sr. Fund, c/o Joyce Todd, 26690 Temple Road, Marydel, MD 21649.
