GEORGETOWN - David "Ratchet" Hynson passed away on Thursday, Mar. 16, 2017, at his home.
He was the son of the late Ralph and Esther Spence Hynson. He was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Emma Minner Hynson; his brother, Joseph Hynson; and his step-sister, Phyllis Hynson.
David was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy, he then worked at E. I. DuPont in Seaford for 38 years.
He loved to be outdoors fishing and hunting, and was a member of Nanticoke Sportsman Club, NRA, and the North American Hunting Club.
He was survived by his wife of 32 years, Violet Willey Hynson; a step-daughter, Deanna Wise; two granddaughters, Ashley and Jacqulyn; a great-granddaughter, Sophia; a brother, Donald and his wife, Mildred; two nieces; two nephews; and numerous cousins, both locally and across the U.S.A.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Mar. 21, 2017, at 1 p.m., at the Fleischauer Funeral Home, 16 West Market Street, Greenwood, DE 19950. Viewing will be held one hour prior, from 12 noon to 1 p.m.
Interment will be held at St. Johnstown Cemetery, Greenwood.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to either American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.
