David H. Gearhart, 76

DOVER - David H. Gearhart, of Dover, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 76.

Born in Shamokin, Pa., he worked as a truck driver for the Raup Lumber Co. until his enlistment into the U.S. Army in 1950, where he later served in the Korean War.

David was a recipient of the Korean Service Medal, three Bronze Stars, the Good Conduct Medal and the United Nations Service Medal.

He was discharged from ac­tive duty in 1953.

David enjoyed truck driving, a career that he pursued for most of his adult life until his retire­ment from Krajack Tank Lines.

In his quieter moments, he enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and camping.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta, in April 2007.

David is survived by his son, David M. Gearhart and his wife Toni of Dover; six daughters, Diane, Dorothy, Doris, Betsy, Flo and Selma; two grand­children, Megan and Dakota Gearhart, both of Dover; and his stepchildren, George, John and Lori.

Friends and family may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Funer­al Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St., Dover.

Private services with inter­ment will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.
