David Allen Gillespie, Sr.
LINCOLN, Del. - David Allen Gillespie, Sr. passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at home. David was born in Milford, Del. the son of the late William J. and Margaret (McFadden) Gillespie.
He was a graduate of Milford High School and Lincoln Technical School. He worked as a counter person for Fisher Auto Parts/NAPA Auto Parts in Georgetown for many years before retiring. David enjoyed bowling, was a collector of truck and car models and was an avid HO model railroader with a large train set up at home.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; a son, David A. Gillespie, Jr. (Kristen); a daughter, Kristian Vance; three grandchildren, Logan, Gavyn and Danyka; and one brother, Harvey Gillespie (Larraine).
A walk through viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford. All attendees must adhere to the current COVID-19 restrictions including mask wearing and social distancing. Graveside services will follow at Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton at 1 p.m.
The family requests that no flowers be sent and that contributions in David's name be made to the Calvary Wesleyan Church, 240 Delaware Avenue, Harrington, DE 19952.
