LINCOLN - Darlene M. Griffith, of Lincoln, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2008, at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was 61.
Ms. Griffith was born in Salisbury, Md., to Hilda Mae (Daisey) Timmons and the late Dale Ephrum Timmons.
She was a nursery school teacher at the Lincoln United Methodist Church for over 20 years, then went to work at T.L.C. Daycare in Milford before retiring.
Ms. Griffith was a member of the Lincoln United Methodist Church, where she sang in the church choir.
She loved being outdoors and watching her hummingbirds in her backyard.
Ms. Griffith was a devoted grandmother and lived to spend time with her daughter, Bonnie, and her grandson, Peyton, and especially enjoyed taking care of her grandson.
She was a devout Elvis Presley fan, attending several of his concerts with her friends, and she even met her goal of visiting and taking a tour of Graceland.
Ms. Griffith is survived by her husband, Raymond B. Griffith; a daughter, Bonnie K. Snay; a grandson, Peyton Snay; her mother, Hilda Mae Timmons; her brother, Herbert Timmons; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Sunday in the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Ave., Milford.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Lincoln United Methodist Church, Second and Butler streets.
Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Delmar, at 2:30 p.m. on Monday.
