Wolfensberger, 60 MAGNOLIA - Daniel W. "Wolfy" Wolfensberger departed this life July 31, 2012. Mr. Wolfensberger was born in Switzerland to the late Karl and Margrith (Aeschbach) Wolfensberger. Dan married Barbara J. Ryan and moved from Switzerland to Delaware in 1977. Shortly after his arrival in Delaware, he was hired by the Milford Chamber of Commerce as an Economic Development Specialist. Several years later, he was selected as the Director of Forward Central Delaware under the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce, which later became Central Delaware Economic Development Council. Mr. Wolfensberger was also the Director of the Kent County AeroPark Authority. When the decision was made to dissolve the CDEDC, Dan's board formed the Kent Economic Partnership and named Dan the Director. In 2011, he resigned from the Partnership and formed First State Trading Enterprises, Inc. Mr. Wolfensberger was very active in the community and his contributions were diverse. He served on the Roy Klein Advisory Board for the Roy Klein Educational Foundation, and also served as Treasurer on the Board of Kent County Tourism. He was fluent in German, French, Italian and English and represented many international companies. Dan was a caring and compassionate man, and will be greatly missed by those whose lives he touched. Wolfy is survived by his loving daughter, Christina Mathers and son-in-law Daniel Mathers; two wonderful grandchildren, Aiden Patrick and Gabrielle Gennie; one brother, Christopher Wolfensberger, and his girlfriend Carol Davis.
