WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Beloved Daniel M. Skweres, of West Palm Beach, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011, at the Veteran Affairs Medical Hospice Center, West Palm Beach. He was 88, born Oct. 9, 1922, in St. Paul, Minn. Daniel M. Skweres enlisted in Army Air Corps, 1941 as a flight mechanic merging into the Air Force Military Air Transport Service, flight engineer, retiring at Dover Air Force Base, Del., 1962, following 2 years in the Air National Guard. Ret. M/Sgt. Skweres served our country during World War II, Korean War, the Cold War, and Vietnam. Daniel M. Skweres was a devoted member of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Catholic Church of Royal Palm Beach. He is survived by his son, James Skweres, Sr. of Dover, Del.; two daughters, Sally Skweres of Georgetown, Del., and Judy Torrey of Palm Beach Gardens; two grandchildren, James Skweres, Jr. (wife Sophia and great-granddaughter, Emma) of Westover, Md. and Julie Skweres of Pocomoke City, Md. Celebration of Life Catholic Mass will be 12:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, at Holy Cross Church, 631 S. State St., Dover, Del., followed by burial services at the Sharon Hill Memorial Park, 2928 Sharon Hill Road, Dover, Del. at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Delaware Veterans Home Fund, 802 Silver Lake Boulevard, Suite 100, Dover, De. 19904 would be appreciated.
