Dalton Edward 'Our Best Buddy' Atkinson, 11
RICHMOND, Va. - Dalton Edward "Our Best Buddy" Atkinson of Richmond passed away Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, in Richmond. He was 11.
Dalton was met in heaven by his maternal grandpa and namesake, Dalton Cooper, who is surely already playing baseball with him.
He is survived by his mom and dad, Kay and Marc Atkinson; a sister, Melanie Atkinson; an uncle, Jeff Cooper; an aunt, Kristen McGowen and her husband Marc; his maternal grandmother, Christine Cooper; his paternal grandmother, Linda Kester; his paternal great-grandfather, Dave Wormuth; and many great-uncles, great-aunts and cousins whom he loved dearly.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the West Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 W. Broad St., Glen Allen.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Ridge Baptist Church, 1515 Eastridge Road, Richmond.
Flowers are welcome, or the family suggests memorial contribution to the Richmond SPCA, 2519 Hermitage Road, Richmond, VA 23220, where Dalton fell in love with and wanted to help every animal.
