Dallas M. Wright Sr., 81
DOVER - Dallas M. Wright Sr., of Dover, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2008, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 81.
Dallas was born April 20, 1927, in Ivanhoe, Va., son of the late Charles and Dosie Wright.
He worked in construction for many years.
Dallas loved NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon, and was an animal lover. He enjoyed plants and flowers and was known as having a green thumb.
He is survived by his wife, Rosella (Banks) Wright; five children, Mitchell Banks of Camden, Della Haas of Dover, Darlene Carson of Salisbury, Md., Rosa Hughes of Dover, and Dallas M. Wright Jr. of Frederica; two sisters, Georgia Lynch and Virgie Lynch, both of Virginia; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may call one hour before services.
Burial will be private.
Instead of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Kent County SPCA, 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934.
