MADISON, N.C. - Cynthia (Roop) Compton, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2008, at Moorehead Hospital. She was 56.

Cyndi was born March 15, 1952, in Wilmington, Del., daughter of June and Luther Roop.

She was a graduate of Middletown (Del.) High School, Class of 1970.

Cyndi enjoyed life as a homemaker. Her children, Kate and Jesse, were her life. She loved her husband, Jim, dearly.

She loved animals, especially her dogs, Kujo, China and Savana.

Cyndi will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and her outgoing and ornery ways of bringing laughter to all who knew her.

She had many friends who adored her and she would do anything for anybody if they needed her.

Along with her parents, she is survived by her husband, James Linwood Compton; son, Jesse Compton and wife Karla of Madison; daughter, Kate Laren Moyer and her husband Adam of Madison; grandchildren, Kylie Elise Moyer and one on the way; sister, Sandy Faulkner and her husband Rick of Townsend, Del.; and brother, Randy Roop and his wife Elizabeth of Townsend.

Memorial services were held at Wilkerson Funeral Home, Reidsville.
