CMSgt William Edwin Yarnall III

DOVER - Retired CMSgt William Edwin Yarnall, III passed away Oct. 8, 2018 in Philadelphia, Pa.
Mr. Yarnall was born Nov. 23, 1956 in Chestnut Hill, Pa. to the late William Edwin Yarnall Jr. and Margaret Loretta Reilly. He grew up in the Oreland, Pa. area and joined the U.S. Air Force shortly after graduating from high school. He served as an Aircraft Maintenance Crew Chief and retired in 2002 after serving 27 ½ years, retiring as a Chief MSgt. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, Gulf War, Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Following his retirement he taught Industrial Arts: wood shop, at Milford High School for several years and was a Motorcycle Safety Instructor for the State of Delaware.
Mr. Yarnall was involved in the Boy Scouts of America as an Assistant Scoutmaster, camp ranger, scout council, and a member of the Order of the Arrow. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Union Lodge #7 in Dover and a member of the Scottish Rite, life member of the Camden/Wyoming V.F.W., managed the Airbase wood hobby shop, and was an avid motorcycle, classic car, and train enthusiast.
Mr. Yarnall is survived by, his wife of 40 years, Kay B. Yarnall; his sons, William "Troy" Yarnall (Michelle Cooper) of Newark and James Russell Yarnall (Carrie Yarnall) of Charles Town, W. Va.; granddaughter, Brinley Kay Yarnall. Also surviving is his brother-in-law, William Troy Barnhill (Judy Barnhill); and many cousins.
Funeral and Masonic services will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018, at the Torbert Funeral Chapel, South, 1145 E. Lebanon Rd., Dover, DE 19901. A visitation will be from 3 p.m. until service time. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorial contributions be made to the Akridge Scout Reservation, 1910 Baden Powell Way, Dover, DE 19904.
