Claude Harding Peterson

FELTON - Claude Harding Peterson passed away, surrounded by family on Monday, Jul. 24, 2017.
Mr. Peterson was born Sept. 25, 1940 to the late Vivian Hagar and Joseph Peterson in Bridgeton, N.J.
He began working for Virgil Jarrell/Chisholm Ryder after graduating from Felton High School then later went on to work for General Foods/Kraft in Dover where he had 26 years of service before retiring in 2004.
Mr. Peterson enjoyed camping, fishing, and NASCAR. He was a Ford enthusiast and was a Joe Gibbs fan. He was also a devoted member of Christ Memorial Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Peterson was preceded in death by his sisters, Bessie Farrow and Florence Fannin; and two brother-in-laws, John Reed and Charles Farrow.
Mr. Peterson is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Joan Lockwood Peterson; son, Joseph Peterson and wife Nancy; sister, Sarita Reed; grandchildren, Jared Peterson and wife Amanda, Adam Peterson and wife Mary, Ethan Peterson, Brad Pollard and significant other Karen Gollen, Laura Pollard and significant other Matthew Lindenmeier; great-grandchildren, Jared Peterson, Jr., Brendan Peterson, Joseph Peterson, Everett Peterson, Joshua Weiss, Matthew Lindenmeier, Jr. and due in September, the first great-granddaughter, Emily Mae Lindenmeier; and a host of nieces and nephews.
At the request of Mr. Peterson, the services will be graveside, held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jul. 28, 2017 at Odd Fellows Cemetery, 35 Rising Sun Rd., Camden.
In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions be made to Christ Memorial Baptist Church, 1160 E. Lebanon Rd., Dover, DE 19901.
