Clara Mae (Gray) Smith, 82
MILFORD - Clara Mae (Gray) Smith of Milford died Friday, Oct. 19, 2007, in Bayhealth Center, Milford. She was 82.
Mrs. Smith was born in Elmore, Ala., daughter of the late Joseph and Essie Mae (Whatley) Gray.
She worked as a secretary in the insurance industry for many years.
She lived in Sussex County for about 18 years, moving from Germantown, Md.
Mrs. Smith was an avid reader.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Gray; a son, Ronnie E. Smith; and two brothers, Ernest and Leon Gray.
She is survived by three daughters, Lynne Wheeles of Lincoln, Anne Gustafson and her husband Steve of Burtonsville, Md., and Ursula Beach of Lewes; three sons, Kevin S. Smith and his wife Colleen of Georgetown, Larry W. Smith and his wife Gerry of Newcastle, Pa., and Charles W. Smith and his wife Joan of Germantown, Md.; a brother, Gene Gray of Elmore; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, Md.
