ST. MICHAELS, Md. - Clara Hester Strannahan, of St. Michael"s, died Monday, April, 23 2007, in Memorial Hospital of Easton. She was 77.
She was born Jan. 19, 1930, in Greensboro, to the late Harry and Nellie Hickman Jarman.
She was a lifetime resident of the Eastern Shore. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Strannahan was a 1947 graduate of Greensboro High School. A former board member of the St. Mary"s Square Museum, she was also active in the Antique American Arts Association. She was a member of St. Luke"s Methodist Church, the St. Michael"s Women"s Club and Questers.
She enjoyed traveling, collecting antiques and being with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Howard B. Strannahan; a son, Michael and his wife, Gayla Strannahan of Easton; a daughter, Jacque and her husband, Kurt Schnitzer of Hurlock; a brother, Frank and his wife, Shirley Jarman of Dover, Del.; and five grandchildren Kate, Dori, Shaw, Sunny and Andrew.
Visitation will be held at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, P.A on Friday from 6-8 p.m.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. also in the funeral home.
Interment will be in Greensboro Cemetery, Greensboro, Md.
Memorials by be sent to St. Michael"s Fire Dept. Ambulance Fund, 1001 South Talbot St., St. Michael"s, MD 21663.
