DOVER - Christopher Maddox (Chris) Benson beloved son and brother passed away suddenly Sun. Apr. 6, 2015. Chris was born May 8, 1983, in Dover, to Brian Benson and Gail (Kent) Benson. He graduated from Caesar Rodney High School in 2001. After attending Randolph Macon College and University of Delaware he graduated from Wesley College with a degree in Sports Management. Chris was an avid participant in sports in High School and college. Playing varsity soccer in high school and college and lacrosse in high school. He also was a Lacrosse coach at St. Thomas More in the spring of 2014. Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents, Brian and Elizabeth Benson; and grandfather, Lloyd Kent. He is survived by his parents, Gail and Brian Benson; brothers, Brian, Brad and Jeff; grandmother, Pauline Kent; sisters-in-laws, Trina, Jen and Stefanie; eight nieces and nephews, where he was known as the "fun" Uncle Chris. Chris will be so greatly missed by all. Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M., Fri., Apr. 10, 2015 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 209 S. State Street, Dover. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M., Thurs. evening at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Chris Benson Memorial Scholarship Fund at St. Thomas More High School, 133 Thomas More Drive, Magnolia, DE 19962-0199. Letters of condolences may be sent and guest book signed at www.torbertfuneral.com
