MAGNOLIA - Christina A. Burke went home to be with the Lord, on Jan. 12, 2016, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Christina was born on Jun. 26, 1970 in Pompton Plains, New Jersey. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Charles and Joan Flach; and George A. Parrott. Christina attended Caesar Rodney High School, Class of 1988. She continued to pursue her education, receiving her Masters Degree in Business Administration; and eventually completing her PhD in Business, from Wilmington University. Christina worked as a professor at Wesley College in Dover, and Director of Career Services at Tesst College of Technology in Baltimore. She was an educator, mentor, and published author, of the Queenie Baby Mystery Series. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, singing, and traveling. She was into fitness and health, and had a flair for "mid century modern" décor. She loved everything about Christmas, and keeping the Spirit of Santa alive. She loved to laugh, and her humor and bright, lovely smile were infectious. Christina had a zestful love for life, and lived her life to the fullest. She was strong and courageous, and continued to encourage others and follow her dreams throughout her illness. She cherished her family and enjoyed time spent with them. Above all, Christina will be remembered as an amazing, loving Mom to her children, a loving wife and daughter, a caring sibling, and true friend. Christina is survived by her loving husband, Jim; children, Sam, Julia, Stephanie, and Jennifer; granddaughter, Alaina; mother, Pauline; father, Ellis and his wife, Karen; grandmother, Judy; sister, Monica and her husband, Kane; Max the Wonder Dog; Bugsy; a host of nieces and nephews; and a large circle of friends. Memorial Services will be held 3:00 pm on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016, at Pippin Funeral Home. Friends may gather one hour prior. Final resting place will be Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Christina's honor can be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE. 19963, or via www.delawarehospice.org.
