Charlotte B. 'Pud' Whaley, 65
LAUREL - Charlotte B. "Pud" Whaley, of Laurel, passed away Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford. She was 65.
She was born in Milford, daughter of the late Dawson Boyce and Geneva (Russell) Boyce of Seaford.
After attending Goldey-Beacom College, she later worked for Delaware Agricultural Sub Station, Georgetown.
She also worked for Delmarva Power as a secretary and bookkeeper, and retired from the Bayshore Camp Mobile Home Park as a secretary and treasurer.
Pud loved antiques and yard sales, and loved to water ski.
She will be remembered as having a radiant personality, never meeting a stranger and having a heart of gold.
Pud was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, Laurel.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Raymond Whaley of Laurel; her daughter, Virginia Whaley and her companion Biff Lee of Laurel; her brother, Russell Boyce and his wife Victoria of Phoenix, Ariz.; a nephew, Christopher Boyce and his wife Jill; her nieces, Linda Reckinger and her husband Brian and Victoria Boyce; and her grandnieces and grandnephews, Jacob and Sarah Boyce, Alex and Elania Reckinger and Dawson Forga.
A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home, 700 West St., Laurel, where friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The Rev. John Van Tine will officiate.
Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Laurel.
Instead of flowers, contributions can be made in her name to Centenary United Methodist Church, 200 W. Market St., Laurel, DE 19956.
