Charlie H. Collins

CHESTERTOWN - Charlie H. Collins of Sparr, Fla., died Dec. 27, 2012 in his son's home in Duck Neck, Chestertown, Md. Mr. Collins was born on Oct. 17, 1933, son of the late Lawrence A. and Phebe Abbott Collins. He has lived most of his life in Millington until moving to Florida in 1997. He was a truck driver for Hubbard's in Rock Hall before driving long hauls for several companies. Mr. Collins was a life member of Community Vol. Fire Company of Millington. He enjoyed fishing. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Barbara Manning Collins in 2001 and a brother Fred Collins. He is survived by three sons, Charlie Collins, Jr. of Chestertown, Edward Michael Collins of Marydel, Del. and Gregory Collins of Betterton; eight siblings, Lawrence Collins of Millington, Lovinia C. McNatt of Smyrna, Del., Violet C. McCrea (Gene) of Massey, Raymond Collins of Anthony, Fla., Phebe C. Wallace (Wayne) of Clayton, Del., Dorothy C. Jenkins of Ocala, Fla., Margaret C. Sherouse (Roy) of Anthony, Fla. and June C. Johnson of Fort McCoy, Fla. and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013 at 11 a.m in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD.
