Charles William Fenton, 73

DOVER - Charles William Fenton, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, in Milford Hospice Center. He was 73. Mr. Fenton was born Dec. 6, 1934 in Poultney, Vt., to the late William Roland Fenton and Beatrice Peck Fenton. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Marine Corp. Mr. Fenton retired in 2001, after 27 years as an educator for Caesar Rodney School District at Welch Elementary School on the Dover Air Force Base. After his retirement he worked part-time for Sears in the Lawn, Garden and Fitness department in sales. He also had worked for Shawnee Country Club in Milford, bar tended at Dyers Liquor Store in Milford, and cashier at the Acme in Harrington. Mr. Fenton enjoyed drawing, cooking, his grandchildren, and all of his students he taught during his career. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Patricia Ann Hunter Fenton of Dover; four daughters, Patti Kessell, of Dover, Bonnie Sears and Peggy Elkey, both of Hartly, and Lori Lamoureux of Springfield, Vt.; five grandchildren, Charles Elkey, Dawn Vasquez, Joshua Kessell, Mark Kessell, and Emilia Clamente; and five great-grandchildren, Philip, Christian, Angelic, Amber Lynn and Preston. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt. 10), Dover, where friends may call one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Hwy., Dover, DE 19901; or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Letters of condolences may be sent, and guestbook signed, at www.torbertfuneral.com.
