Charles William Cowgill

GOLDSBORO, Md. - Charles William "Bill" Cowgill, 70, of Goldsboro, died at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford on Nov. 12, following a short illness. He was born in Price Station, Md., to the late Elsie Hutson and George M. Cowgill Sr. He was raised in Caroline County, Md. He owned and operated Cowgill Drilling in Smyrna, Del., until his retirement. Bill was very active early in life in community baseball leagues with his son then later in life enjoyed vintage cars, live music entertainment with his friends and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Harrington Moose Lodge #534. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Carol Vaughn Cowgill. Bill is survived by a son, William Clark Cowgill and wife Sheryl; three grandchildren, Kelsey, Shannon and Camden Cowgill, all of San Diego, Calif.; a dear friend, Anne Schreiber of Harrington, Del.; two brothers, George M. Cowgill, Jr. of Goldsboro, and Robert L. Cowgill of Harrington; and two sisters, Mary Ann Pospichal of Camden, Del., and Betty Smith of Dover, Del.; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 17, in the Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, 106 W. Sunset Ave., in Greensboro, where friends may call for a visitation at 1 p.m. Interment will follow the service in the Mt. Olive Cemetery, Felton, Del.
