Parks, Jr., 82 TANGIER ISLAND, VA. - Mr. Charles Wesley Parks, Jr., 82, husband of Nancy Evans Parks, and the late Violet Jane Parks, and a lifelong resident of Tangier Island, Va., passed away on Mon., Sept. 9, 2013, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox, Va. Born Sept. 7, 1931, he was a son of the late Charles Wesley Parks and Etta Ford Parks. He was a waterman, member of Swain Memorial United Methodist Church, and loved baseball. Besides his first wife Violet Jane, and his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, William Ray "Bill" Parks. In addition to his wife, Nancy, survivors include four sons, Charles W. "Chuck" Parks III and wife Karen of Onley, Va., William R. Parks and wife Claudia of Tangier Island, Eddie F. Parks of Ariz., and Richie A. Parks and wife Ann Marie of Tangier Island; two sisters, Jean Parks Autry of Tangier Island, and Madaline Parks Ruby and husband Bob of Newark, Del.; ten grandchildren, Rebecca Eberts (husband E.T.), Hannah Annis (husband Johan), and Hillary, Amanda, Eli, Joe-Joe, Chris, R.J., Jacob and Noah Parks; four great-grandchildren, Wesley and Aidan Eberts, Lily Miles, and David Annis; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home, Fri., Sept. 13, 2013 at 2 p.m., with his son, the Reverend Charles W. Parks III officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Lawn Cemetery in Onancock. There will be a visitation at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to the Swain Memorial United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 199, Tangier, VA 23440, or to the Onley Volunteer Fire and Rescue, P.O.
