Charles Russell Parker, 84

MILFORD - Charles Russell Parker, of Milford, died Tuesday Nov. 25, 2008, in Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was 84. Mr. Parker was born Feb. 29, 1924, in Frankford to the late Charles R. Parker and Edith Long Parker. He was a veteran of World War II serving on a Liberty Ship in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1946, then working for Berry Funeral Home as a licensed embalmer for nine years. Mr. Parker worked as an Exhibit Coordinator for L.D. Caulk/ Dentsply from 1954 until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church in Milford. Mr. Parker enjoyed going to auctions and collecting antiques all his life. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Murray of Dagsboro in 2004. Mr. Parker is survived by his niece, Barbara Hickman and her husband Robert of Dagsboro. Mr. Parker also leaves behind many dear friends. Funeral services were held 2 p.m, Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Route 10), Dover. Burial was in Christ Episcopal Church Cemetery, Milford. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice Center, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
