FELTON - Charles R. "Chuck" Crompton passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 in Bayhealth, Milford Memorial Hospital of Kidney failure. Chuck was born July 2, 1953 to the late Harold and Virginia Wallace Crompton. Chuck served in the United States Army from 1974-1981. He worked most recently as a forklift operator at Quality Kitchens in Camden. Prior to that he worked at Perdue Chicken, ConAgra, and Allen Foods. He was a loyal NY Giants and NY Yankees fan. In 1971 he served as assistant campaign manager for Jim Buckley's successful senatorial run in New York. Chuck was a Freemason, and a member of Jefferson Lodge #15 in Lewes, and more recently Union Lodge #7 in Dover. Chuck is survived by his wife of 34 years, Kathryn "Kay" Crompton of Felton; four sons, Jeremy Crompton and wife Michelle of Felton, Joshua Crompton of Philadelphia, Luke Crompton of Felton, and Matthew Crompton of Felton; and four grandchildren, Aidan, Mika, Caitlyn and Noah Crompton, all of Felton. A Funeral Service will be held 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 East Lebanon Rd., Dover, where friends may call 2 hours prior. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden, 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012. Letters of condolence may be sent and the guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
