Charles Pepper

DOVER - Charles Pepper, of Dover, died Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, at home. He was 73. Mr. Pepper was born Nov. 6, 1937, in Dover, to the late Granville Pepper and Marion Touchstone Pepper. He had served in the Delaware Army National Guard. Mr. Pepper worked as a veterinary assistant for Governors Avenue Animal Hospital in Dover, for 50 years. He enjoyed wood working, square dancing and was a big sports enthusiast. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Granville "Bud", Harold, Donald and Fred Pepper; and sister, Marion Warren. Mr. Pepper is survived by his daughter, Michele Lynn Pepper Trampe and her husband Paul of Fredericksburg, Va.; and brothers, George Pepper and his wife Louise of Dover, Richard Pepper and his wife Ester of Felton, and Bill Pepper of Dover. A memorial service will be noon, Monday, Aug. 22, 2011, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
