SEAFORD - Charles Lee "Petie" Horseman age 51 of Seaford, Del., departed this life on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011 after a long battle with cancer at home, with his brothers by his side. Born in Seaford the son of the late Joan F. Chaffinch and Charles E. Horseman, he was a brick mason for over 20 years until his illness. He loved fishing and NASCAR, and was an avid fan of Dale Earnhardt. Charles is survived by two children, Heather Horseman Uber of Laurel and Jared Kernodle of Hickman; two brothers, John L. Horseman with whom he lived and Don W. Horseman of Bridgeville; a sister, Lisa Lorenzo of Long Neck. He is also survived by his uncle and aunt John and Kay Eskridge of Bridgeville, and his uncle Robert Horseman of Delmar; as well as a special granddaughter, Angel Tunis of Georgetown; and a host of many nieces and nephews that loved him dearly. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Landis Jean Horseman in 2007; and by his maternal grandparents, LeRoy and Effie Chaffinch; and his paternal grandmother, Emma Horseman. He will always be remembered and sadly missed. Services will be Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in Watson-Yates Funeral Home, Front & King Streets, Seaford, Delaware where friends may call from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. prior to the services. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery Seaford.
