DOVER - Charles Henry Russ, formerly of the Farmington/Harrington area, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, at Courtland Manor Nursing Home, Dover, where he had been a resident for 10 years. He was 94.
Mr. Russ was retired from the Delaware Highway Department after many years of service.
Although he was blind for many years, one would never have known it to have met him, in that he could tell his family members as they approached him, as well as the nursing room staff members, by the sound of their footsteps.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Coverdale.
Mr. Russ is survived by his daughters, Patricia (Walter) Smith and Robin Wells of Harrington; his sons, Leroy and his wife Georgia Ann Coverdale of Harrington and David "Curt" Coverdale of Harrington; his stepdaughter, Louise and her husband Alfred Smith of Harrington; his stepson, Charles Coverdale of Milford; his brothers, Lawrence Russ of Harrington and Robert Russ of Baltimore; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Graveside service were held at Williamsville Cemetery.
