Charles F. 'Chuck' Waltman Jr., 74

CLAYTON - Charles F. 'Chuck' Waltman Jr., passed away in his home Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, of Huntington's Chorea. He was 74. Mr. Waltman was born May 10, 1934 in Pennsylvania, the son of the late Charles F. Waltman Sr. and Bertha McCrackin Waltman. He retired from the United States Air Force following 20 years of service and was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Following his retirement from the Air Force, Mr. Waltman worked for 18 years as a guard for the DuPont Company in Edgemore. He was a member of the New Castle Moose Lodge and his hobbies included hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Charles "Chucky" Waltman; two brothers; and a foster son, Paul "Chip" Baker. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Boney Waltman; a daughter, Lena Mae Lord of Townsend; two sons, David Waltman at home, and Dwyne Waltman and his wife, Cheryl of Dover; seven brothers; three sisters; his grandchildren, William Waltman, Eric and Josh Lord, D.J. Waltman, David Gillen and Sabrina Rosta; and his great-grandchildren, Zoe Rosta, Carter Gillen and Jacob Waltman. Services with full Military Honors will be 12 noon Tuesday, March 3, 2009 in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover. Arrangements are by Faries Funeral Directors and Crematorium Inc., 29 S. Main St., Smyrna.
