Charles “Buster” Staats, Jr. died peacefully on January 15, 2025, at his home in Smyrna. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharlene Bartsch and his son Charles Staats III. He is survived by his wife of 72 years Shirley, daughters Rosalie (Pierce) Martin, Jeannine Staats, and Teresa (John) Swartz, 8 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening, January 22nd from 6-8 pm at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, DE. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Townsend Cemetery.
