SEAFORD - Charles A. Giles, of Seaford, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, at Seaford Center Genesis Health Care. He was 84.
Mr. Giles was born Aug. 27, 1923, near Sharptown, Md., son of the late Stanley O. and Mattie Louise (Gaines) Giles. His wife, Florence V. Giles, preceded him in death on Dec. 14, 1990.
He worked on construction and was a member of the Laborers Union of Delaware Local 847, Wilmington.
Mr. Giles enjoyed bowling, hunting and visiting with his neighbors.
He is survived by two daughters, Ida L. Giles of Seaford and Charlotte Carolyn Giles of Baltimore; two grandchildren, Wendolyn J. Giles and Qadus A. Giles; a sister, Pearline Weldon of Chesapeake, Va.; and several nieces and nephews, including James B. West of Seaford.
A sister, Gladys Morris, and a brother, Robert Morris, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be noon Saturday at United Deliverance Bible Center, Laurel, with Dr. Keith Wongus Sr. officiating.
Interment will follow in Macedonia Cemetery, Seaford.
Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.
