Charlene Jessica (Nixon) Moore, 49

DOVER - Charlene Jessica (Nixon) Moore departed this life Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 49.

Charlene was the daughter of the late Ann Morris Nixon and Alfonso L. Nixon Sr. and was born July 26, 1959, in Dover.

She was married to the late Lee James "Billy" Moore for 26 years and from this union one son, Loren Darnell L. Moore, was born.

Charlene lived to be on the computer while listening to "oldie by goodies" music.

Her last employment was as an online DJ at spotlight.com.

She also enjoyed entertaining family and friends in her home and, like her late mother, loved to cook.

During the times that she was employed, Charlene worked at Playtex and Wawa.

Although she worked in the community, she had a passion for entrepreneurship. For many years she was involved in various businesses, selling Avon, vacuum cleaners and other items. With her soft voice, Charlene would engage anyone into conversation about her current business ventures.

She gave her life to the Lord on July 30, 2007, during the homegoing service for her late husband. She enjoyed listening to gospel music.

She leaves to cherish her memory her father, Alfonso Nixon Sr.; her son, Loren Moore; stepchildren, Sherile A. Harris, Rhonda Ann Trott and her husband Jerome and Angela Lee Moore; six step-grandchildren; two brothers, Alfonso Nixon Jr. and Anthony M. Nixon; five sisters, Agnes Nixon, Rachel Nixon, Althea Nixon, Edna and her husband Gordon Walker and Leslie and her husband James Carey; special and endearing family and friends, Cousin Maxine and her husband Carlos, Aunt Edna, Barbara Jean, Mae, Sandy and Peggy; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be noon Friday in Calvary Baptist Church, Queen and Fulton streets, Dover, where friends may call two hours prior.

Arrangements by Minus Funeral Home.
