DOVER - Cecilia Doughty passed away peacefully at Kent General hospital in Dover on Thursday, April 28, 2022.
Cecilia was born May 18, 1943, in Bronx, New York to the late John and Margaret (nee Casey) McKenna. She worked most of her life as a School Teacher, having graduated from Mercy College, Tarrytown, New York with master's in education. She taught various subjects to students up to 10th grade in the U.S. in New York City, and Indianapolis as well as overseas in Bahrain, Iran, Saudi, Venezuela, and Guam. She was an avid Mahjong player, an American history buff, and enjoyed the old classic black and white movies.
Cecilia is survived by: her cousin, Marion Bochner, of New Jersey, United States, two stepsons, Michael Doughty of Dover, and Chris Doughty, of Macon, Georgia; and two grandchildren, Max Doughty, of Boston and Greer Doughty, of Auckland.
Viewing will be held from 3-5 p.m., Sunday, May 15, 2022, in Pippin Funeral home, Inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, Del.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 12 noon, Monday, May 16, 2022, in the Church of the Holy Cross, 631 South State St., Dover, Del. Burial will follow in Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica, Del.
